Robert Thomas Whitworth, 89 years, passed away of natural causes on April 7, 2011, at his ranch in the Pahsimeroi Valley.  He was born August 25, 1921, to George “Judd” Whitworth and Clara Meese Whitworth in Inkom, Idaho. The family left Inkom and Lava in 1939 and moved to the Elk Horn Ranch near Mackay, Idaho. He met and married Mary Geraldine McKelvey on November 13, 1941. They were the parents of Charlie, Gerald, Maureen, Mariann and Kami Sue. They left the Elk Horn ranch and moved to the Pahsimeroi Valley. Bob and Geraldine worked and raised their family on the K4 ranch on Sulfur Creek. Bob loved his family dearly and was interested in all their accomplishments and trails. He also enjoyed good horses and raised many of them. He was especially proud of his racehorse “Ridges Rocket.” Bob had a keen sense of humor, he got a kick out of watching a cowboy get thrown off his saddle horse or chased on foot by a mean cow. He loved to hear some good “news” from town and would always ask his “partners” for some gossip, to which he would reply, “Honest?” He loved a good Coca Cola and a good cigarette. His horses came to his bedroom window when he died. He never held a grudge and loved everyone. Bob is survived by his daughters Maureen (Allen) Betcher of May, Idaho, Mariann Whitworth of Boise, Idaho, Kami Sue (Mitch) Corrigan of Challis, Idaho; grandchildren Heather (Mike) Young, Kelly (Kathy) Whitworth, Betsy Whitworth, Karen (Ken) Embleton, Kalli (Buck) Church and Robert Betcher; great-grandchildren Toby Whitworth, Matt Whitworth, Mary McKelvey Embleton, Charlee Cate Embleton, Maycee Church, Sophie and Tennyon Young. He was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine; parents Judd Whitworth, Clara Swauger; sons Gerald and Charlie; brothers George, Jack and Herb; and sister Mary Barrett. Funeral Services were held Monday, April 11, 2011 at the May Grange Hall, in May, Idaho, with burial in May Cemetery.  Arrangements by Jones & Casey Funeral Home of Salmon. We will see you on the other side cowboy – Honest! Challis Messenger April 14 2011
