James Clyde Lambert Passes Away September 5 2012

Clyde Lambert passed away September 5, 2012. Condolences to the family. James Clyde Lambert, 91, of Mackay, passed away peacefully at his daughter, Maureen's home Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, in Idaho Falls.

Funeral services are set for Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 11 AM in the Mackay LDS Ward Chapel under the direction of Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93 in Arco. Family visitation will be Friday, Sept. 7, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the Mackay LDS Church and 1 hour prior to the service on Sept. 8th.

James Clyde Lambert, 91, of Mackay, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Maureen and Jeff Danielson, in Idaho Falls.

"Clyde" was born at the family home in Mackay to Ira and Leona Christensen Lambert on July 19, 1921. He grew up and attended schools in and around Mackay, graduating from Mackay High School. He spent his adolescent years working on the family farm and herding his father's sheep in Copper Basin.

During World War II, he joined the Navy and served as an X-ray technician on board the hospital ship USS Haven. He walked through the destruction of the atomic bomb two weeks after the bomb was dropped on Nagasaki, seeing firsthand some of the horrors of war.

After the war, he purchased and settled on a farm south of Mackay, where he worked most of the rest of his life.

He married Eva Adams on Nov. 17, 1949, in Idaho Falls. They were inseparable in life. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they raised a family. Their children are Joe, Dewaine, Maureen and John. Eva passed away Oct. 19, 2008.

Clyde loved the Lost River Valley and surrounding mountains and he spent countless hours hiking, camping, fishing and hunting in them.

He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He faithfully served in a wide variety of callings in the church, among them, ward clerk for nine years and Scoutmaster for over 10 years. He was also civic-minded and served on many different boards in the community.

Clyde was a gracious, kind, hardworking, honest man. He often expressed his heartfelt gratitude for his many blessings, particularly his family, the gospel, his freedoms and the beautiful world around him. He loved life and most of all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his four children, Joe (Sharon) Nafus and Dewaine (Shari) Nafus of Blackfoot, Maureen (Jeff) Danielson of Idaho Falls and John (LaRue) Lambert of Mackay; 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. He is also survived by a brother, Harold of Mackay; and two sisters, Myrle Tippets of Boise and Nina Whiting of St. George, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his eternal companion; his parents; brothers Wayne, Boyd and Vern; and his grandson, Joey Nafus.

The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to Aspen Home Health and Hospice for its kindness and the loving service it provided.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, at the Mackay LDS Church. A viewing will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the church, and for one hour prior to services Saturday. Interment will be at Mt. McCaleb Cemetery under the direction of Anderson Family Funeral Home of Arco.

Clyde is now again side by side with his beloved Eva at Mt. McCaleb Cemetery in Mackay, Idaho.

Eva Adams Lambert, 90, of Mackay, passed away in the early morning hours on October 19, 2008. She was in her home at the time of her passing, surrounded by those she loved. Eva was born November 18, 1917 to George and Etta Adams in Taylorville, Idaho. She was the fifth of ten children. When she was 5 years old she moved with her family to the Lost River Valley and settled in Leslie. She lived in her beloved Lost River Valley for the remainder of her life. Eva attended schools in Leslie and Mackay. She married at a young age and two boys, Joe and Dewaine, were born to this marriage. She was later divorced. She worked at various jobs to provide for her children. On November 17, 1949, she married James Clyde Lambert in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They were inseparable from that time on. To this marriage was born two more children, Maureen and John. They settled on a farm near Mackay where together with her husband Clyde, she worked and raised her family. She lived on this farm for the rest of her life. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. All of her children have been sealed to them for time and eternity. Eva was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She was an example to all of those around her. She spent countless hours with her grandchildren and each of them had a special place in her heart. She had the unique ability to make each one of them think that they were her favorite. She leaves a great legacy of love and laughter to all those who knew her. Eva is survived by her husband, Clyde of Mackay; her four children, Joe (Sharon) Nafus and Dewaine (Shari) Nafus, of Blackfoot, Maureen (Jeff) Danielson of Idaho Falls, and John (LaRue) Lambert of Mackay; four sisters, Theola Jensen and Alene (Darwin) Bowden, of Moore, Reoma Smith of Burley, and Lula Shaffer of Mackay; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Her parents, three brothers, LaVerle, Lester, and Orvil, two sisters, Eliza, and Wanita, and her grandson, Joey Nafus, preceded her in death. The family wishes to express sincere gratitude and appreciation for all the services and love provided by Upper Valley Family Medicine, Madison Memorial Hospital, Creekside Home Health, and Lost River Home Health and Hospice. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 25 at the Mackay LDS Church. A viewing will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday evening at the church, and for one hour prior to the services on Saturday. Interment will be in the Mt.
