Blast from the Past - American Theatre circa 1965
The Custer Hotel and American Theatre closed circa 1952 and sat empty until the building was razed after the October 28 1983 Mt. Borah Earthquake. The American Theatre was located on Main Street where the former Rocking Horse Dance Studio over the Nelson owned garage is located today. The red plush seats from the American Theatre are now located in Mackay's Main Theatre.
Tom Mix (the sign in the window at the American Theatre) was a cowboy film star born in 1880 and died in 1940. From http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0594291/bio
