Blast from the Past - Custer County History by C.A. Bottolfsen Mackay Miner Nov 16 1963

Clarence Alfred (C.A.) Bottolfsen's History of Custer County, Mackay Miner November 16 1963. C.A. was born 10 October 1891 and died 18 July 1964.  He served as the 17th and 19th Governor of Idaho, from 1939 to 1941 and again from 1943 to 1945.

In 1910, Bottolfsen, then nineteen, was asked to manage the Arco Advertiser in Arco, Idaho. He purchased the paper and continued to be the publisher in Arco until 1949. He married Elizabeth Hanna on August 27, 1912. Bottolfsen died at age 72 in Boise from complications from emphysema, which he suffered from in his final years. Bottolfsen Park in Arco, Idaho is named after him.
