Remembering - Mary Budge Sayer - Obituary January 9 2006

Mary Budge Sayer, 60, of Leslie, Idaho, died Monday, January 9, 2006, in Arco, Idaho, after a nine-month battle with thyroid cancer. She was surrounded by loved ones as she passed away. She was born on March 16, 1945, in Montpelier, Idaho, to Taft Passey and Jean Price Budge. She was raised in Paris, Idaho, in the Bear Lake Valley, where she graduated from Fielding High School. Then she went to nursing school at Ricks College, where she earned her RN nursing degree.

While in Rexburg attending Ricks College, she met Byron Sayer, and they were married in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple on December 28, 1966.

Byron and Mary have five children, Blaine (Robin) Sayer of Idaho Falls, ID; Marianne (Paul) Lanier of Leslie, ID; Aaron (Kirsty) Sayer of Bowling Green, OH; Jeremy (Heather) Sayer of Mountain Home, ID and Joshua (Christina) Sayer of Moore, ID.

Mary worked full time at Lost Rivers Hospital after moving to the Lost River Valley from Mountain Home in 1976 until she was diagnosed with cancer in March of 2005. She also worked in Mountain Home Hospital prior to moving from there. She was a nurse for more than 37 years.

In her spare time, she worked with her devoted husband, delivering mail, farming and raising five children.

Mary served in several callings in the LDS Church, which she loved, from nursery leader to relief society president. Mary loved her husband, children and 15 grandchildren, who knew her as Mom, Grammy, Grammer, and Ga-ma.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Lynn Budge, and her parents.

She is survived by her husband, five children, 15 grandchildren, three brothers (Richard (wife Ann) , Neil (wife Jan), Mark (wife LuAnn) and three sisters (Ione (husband Kent), Margaret (husband Richard), and Ann (husband Charles).

A viewing will be held at Hawker Lost River Funeral Home at 345 Sunset Drive, in Arco, Idaho, on Friday, January 13, 2006, from 6:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for family and friends.

The funeral will be held at the Moore LDS Stake Center on Saturday, January 14, 2006, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing one hour before the funeral.

Internment will be in the Mt. McCaleb Cemetery.
