Max Wilde of Mackay Idaho Passes Away January 22 2012

Max Wilde, one time resident of Mackay, passed away January 22, 2012 after a long illness.

Max was a loving husband to Theresa (Terry) for 42 years; devoted father to his daughter Michelle Wilde of Fort Collins, Colorado and his son Erik Wilde (Trista) of Libertyville, Illinois; and adoring grandfather to Kieren, Nathan and Nolan Wilde. He is also survived by brothers Gary and Gale Lords of Mackay and Dennis and Dale Lords of Alaska. He was preceded in death by his parents Irvin and Ethel Haight Lords and his brother Keith.
Max was born March 25, 1940 and raised in Mackay, graduating from Mackay High School in 1958, and then earned a degree from the University of Idaho. Later he got his Masters Degree in Educational Administration. Max devoted his professional life to education. His passion was teaching both children and adults. In 1967 he moved to California and worked at Encinal High School in Alameda, teaching high school math and coaching boys and girls basketball. He served as the vice principal of Emery High School and was a math teacher at Vallejo High School. He also taught drivers training, traffic school and adult citizenship classes. Max was proud to serve as a San Leandro School Board Trustee for 15 years. Some of Max's favorite pastimes were family camping trips, listening to music, reading and shopping for bargains. In later years, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and traveling.
Max's ashes will be interned at the Mt. McCaleb cemetery on Sunday, June 10, at 11 a.m., where the family will say their final farewells. After the memorial there will be an open house for all who wish to come and remember Max. From the Challis Messenger May 31 2012.
