John Henry Edwards Passes Away in Mackay Idaho November 26 2011

John Henry Edwards, 85, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2011 at his home in Mackay.


He was born September 3, 1926 in Colton, California to Martha and Ken Robinson. John received his education in California and Idaho where he graduated from Mackay High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for 26 years, retiring in 1971.
On November 8, 1948 he married Dorothy Cottrell in Pocatello, Idaho. They were blessed with three children; John, Linda and Beverly.
John loved his country and was very patriotic. During his military service he served his country during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a talented woodworker and enjoyed watching John Wayne movies. John also loved to travel and watch sports. He was a kind, thoughtful, quiet man who never lost his temper and was a good husband.
Surviving is his wife Dottie Edwards, Mackay; children John Kenneth Edwards, California, Linda Lee Gentry, Mackay, Beverly Blas of California and 16 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1 p.m. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco, Idaho. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Mt. McCaleb Cemetery in Mackay. A luncheon will be provided by the American Legion Hall in Mackay following the service.
