Gordon Abraham Seefried, 27, beloved middle son of Bill and Holly Seefried, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011.

Gordon was born Jan. 3, 1984. Gordon graduated from Mackay High School in 2002. He then attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, from which he graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management in 2006. After graduating from the University of Idaho, Gordon returned to Mackay and took a job as the kindergarten aide at Mackay Elementary. Wanting to use his business degree, he quit his aide job to go to work, for a short while, at Lost River Electric Co-op. His love of teaching still called strongly and he returned to the school, first as a substitute teacher, but quickly becoming an aide in Mackay High School. His business degree allowed him to enter the ABCTE online program, from which he received his accreditation to teach. He became the Mackay kindergarten teacher in 2010 and taught elementary physical education in the afternoons. Gordon was diagnosed with chondroblastic osteosarcoma in January 2010. He fought this disease bravely until his passing. Gordon loved all of "his" kids, but he especially loved his six nieces. Gordon is survived by his parents, Bill and Holly Seefried of Mackay; his older brother and sister-in-law, William and Jamie Seefried; their six daughters, Trinity, Kaydence, Jocelyn, Danika, Addison and Elise; his younger brother, Patrick Seefried; and his granny, Heather Nelson, all of Mackay; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Bill and Shirley Seefried; and his grandpa, Dave Nelson. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and the entire community of Mackay. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Gordon's life at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, in the Mackay High School gym, 390 E. Spruce. The family will meet with friends for one hour before the service, and a luncheon will be served afterward in the Mackay Elementary "cafegymatorium." In lieu of flowers, a "Mr. Gordon Field Trip Fund" has been set up at Ireland Bank, 208 S. Main St., P.O. Box 600, in Mackay.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lost River Funeral Chapel.
