Blast from the Past - Cottonwood Grove

Back in the 1930s and 1940s, an outdoor dance pavillion called the Cottonwood Grove was very popular just above Mackay. An old railroad car served the concessions next to a concrete dance floor where live bands came to play for the dancers. They had a rock fireplace. The only remains of the Cottonwood Grove today in 2011 are the concrete dance floor and the rock fireplace. The railroad car burned many years ago.
