Mackay Idaho Telephone Office History


In the late 1940's and early 1950's, Beulah Coates Donahue was the main telephone operater and lived in the house at 413 Main with her little son, Michael Donahue. Beulah was the operator until Oct. 31, 1951, when she passed away of heart disease at age 39 when Michael was just 8 years old. Beulah is buried at the Chilly Cemetery off of Trail Creek Road north of Mackay, Idaho. From Beulah Coates Donahue's niece, Joyce Reno Gomez January 11 2011.
