Elsie LaFever Waddoups Passes February 28 2010



Raised in Moore she met and married Jimmie Waddoups Sept. 25th, 1928 in Challis. They were blessed with two children, Jennie Marie Smith and Tom (Beth) Waddoups. She and Jimmie made their home in Antelope, raising sheep and cattle until Jimmie’s passing in 1996.


During her life Elsie served on many boards and offices. High Country Cowbelles as reporter, president elect, president, also helping with Bingham County Cowbelles. She was vice-president and president of the State Cowbelles. Jimmie was a director of the Cattle Association and they enjoyed national conventions in many states. She was president of the Butte County Homemakers council and vice-president of the advisory board. She enjoyed painting and was a member of the Art Guild. Elsie was a member of the International Society of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.


Elsie is survived by her daughter, Jennie Marie Smith, son, Tommy (Beth) Waddoups , seven granddaughters, Brenda (Jerald) Johnston, Connie Hainline, Teresa (Mike) Duke, Leisa (Jerry) Bowhay, Lewene (Bo) Clark, Gwen Rickards, Dana (Jon) Rickard, one grandson Jimmie K. (Laura) Waddoups, 20 great grandchildren: Anne Hainline, Andrew (Angie) Hainline, Erica Hainline, Jarrie (Jeff) Schaefer, Hoke Johnston, James (Catrina) Duke, Josie Duke, Jessica (Sam) Cottam, Chad (Robin) Clark, Hadley Clark, Nevada (Cheyenne) Clark, Jay (Kirsten) VanEtten, Stacy VanEtten, Carsen Waddoups, Gerrod Rickard, Jo Marie Rickard, Michael Rickard, Jeremy Rickards, Lauren Rickards and 11 great great grandchildren: KiLynn Hainline, Kase Hainline, Kooper Hainline, Jennifer Schaefer, JoAnn Schaefer, Isabella Duke, Razor Duke, Virgil VanEtten, Daisha Sortor and McKensie Cottom.


Elsie is preceded in death by her husband Jimmie, parents Charles and Maud (Pearson) LaFever, sister Erma Jones, son-in-law (Orville Smith), one grandson-in-law (Floyd Hainline), and a great grandson (Bo Dean Clark) and a great great grandson (Jerald Schaefer).


Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 4, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at the Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93, Arco, ID with Pastor Michael Harris officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. and for one hour prior to service. Interment will be in the Mt. McCaleb Cemetery.
