Decked out in wool swimsuits belonging to Virginia Chaney (parents Jack and Pauline Strunk Chaney) in 1934. The Big Lost River temperature runs only 44 to 59 degrees during the summer months.

Margie was the daughter of Mape and Hazel Jensen Anderson Lundberg. Virginia's parents owned and operated the Square Deal Grocery located where the Thrifty Barn is today (2013) on Elm between Custer (Highway 93) and Pine. Virginia later married Murray Layne and Margie married Frank Malkiewicz.
