Margie was the daughter of Mape and Hazel Jensen Anderson Lundberg. Virginia's parents owned and operated the Square Deal Grocery located where the Thrifty Barn is today (2013) on Elm between Custer (Highway 93) and Pine. Virginia later married Murray Layne and Margie married Frank Malkiewicz.

You should be able to see the Lost River Range above the tree line and you cannot due to the forest fire smoke from the Halstead Fire and others above Stanley. The Halstead Fires continues to grow to 140,366 acres and is still only 7 percent contained.

Big Lost River Flows to the INL in November 2011
Late-season flows in the Big Lost River: Not since 1999, has the Big Lost River flowed onto the Idaho National Laboratory (INL) during November. Because of an above average precipitation event this October and an above average 2011 water year, fall flow occurred again in the river—which is an important source of recharge for the eastern Snake River Plain aquifer.
