Don Mitchell, 72, of Mackay, Idaho, formerly of Pocatello, Idaho passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2012. He is the fourth son to William and Martha Mitchell, born January 8, 1940 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. When Don was 2 years old his parents moved to Pocatello, Idaho where Don grew up and attended schools, including Pocatello High School. He worked for the Union Pacific Railroad for 35 years.
Don was an avid sportsman and loved the outdoors. As a youngster he loved to play baseball. Later in life he also tried his luck at riding bucking horses and then on to riding motorcycles and snowmobiles. He also loved hunting and fishing with his brothers.
He is survived by three sons: Tom, Don (Lutuicia) and Ron (Glenda) Mitchell; 12 grandchildren; 2 brothers, Clinon (Shanna) Mitchell and Curitis Mitchell; one sister, Mary (Steve) Bowman; and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved Patsy. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacki; his parents and by two brothers and a sister.
