Blast from the Past - Dr. Francis P Richards in Mackay Idaho

Dr. Francis P. Richards arrival in Mackay in 1914. (He lived in Mackay in the 1910 Census, so was well known by 1914). Met by friends at the Mackay Depot and led around town on a mule. Lower photo shows the side of the Mackay Saloon on the corner of Main and Pine (later the Marjo).

Blast from the Past - Oregon Short Line Railroad 1910-1911

Back in 1910, it was hoped that the Oregon Short Line Railroad would be extended from Mackay, Idaho (its last stop) north. This NEVER happened.

Below is a 1911 Map showing the Oregon Short Line Railroad route from Pocatello to Mackay, Idaho. The extension toward Salmon was NEVER completed. Click map twice to enlarge.
