June Talbot Williams, 85, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2011, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. She was born June 2, 1925, in St. John, Idaho, to Andrew Melvin and Miriam Monson Talbot. June was raised and received her elementary education in St. John. In 1943, she graduated from Malad High School. She spent the next several years working for the soil conservation offices in Malad and Pocatello. On July 20, 1948, she married Leon L Williams in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple. They made their home in Malad for a short time before moving to Blackfoot, Idaho. Leon raised potatoes and wheat on the reservation for 12 years. In 1964, they moved to Darlington where they have resided since. June worked for the LDS church for many years as a custodian and was a dedicated mother and wife. She loved her family and supported them in whatever activity they might be involved in. She also enjoyed cooking, painting, crocheting and music. She even taught herself to play the piano. June was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are her husband, Leon Williams of Darlington, Idaho; her children, Kim (Janet) Williams of Firth, Idaho, Brett (Trudy) Williams of Darlington, Michelle (Blaine) McInelly of Blackfoot, Todd (Lynette) Williams of Firth, Greg (Barbara) Williams of Kaysville, Utah, and Troy (Suzanne) Williams of Sugar City, Idaho; a brother, Lorin (Deloris) Talbot of Blackfoot; a sister, Miriel Butler of Nampa, Idaho; 35 grandchildren; and 54 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Nancy Williams; four brothers, Oral, Hiram, Andie and Steven; and two sisters, Zelphia and Shirley.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 31, at the Moore LDS Stake Center with Bishop Brett Williams officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, May 30, at Anderson Family Funeral Home, 2555 N. Highway 93 in Arco, Idaho, and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in Mt. McCaleb Cemetery in Mackay, Idaho. Published in Post Register on May 29, 2011
