This metal container was donated to the Lost Rivers Museum and we don't know what it is. The top screws off and there is a slot in the side. Says "ERII Post Office"
ERII is for Queen Elizabeth II. From my research, it appears that you have a "Money Box" (similar to a piggy bank) that is a replica of an English Post Office Mail Box. I didn't find this exact replica but other styles are for sale on the internet. Since your item is only 6 1/2 inches tall, it may have been a key chain that you could place coins in for those pesky parking meters. Interesting item.
Click on the photo once and to make them even larger, click twice. If you want to save a photo - make sure to save only the largest photo available - by clicking once or twice to enlarge.
Down on the right side of this blog are LABELS - if you'd like to see all the photos of one Label, click that Label title.
