Terrence Vincent Donahue Obituary


Terrence Vincent Donahue, 68, passed away at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls on Friday, Nov. 19, 2010.

Terrence was born June 2, 1942, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Dennie V. Donahue and Ella Hunter-Donahue of Mackay, Idaho.
He attended schools in Mackay, graduating in 1960. During high school, he competed in football and basketball.
After high school, he attended Boise Junior College. He was named business student of the year in 1962. While attending BJC, he met Carol Jeane Baldwin of Meridian, Idaho. They were married July 20, 1963. They attended Idaho State University and graduated in 1964. Terrence graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in accounting.
After college graduation, they settled on a ranch in Barton Flat.
Debbie came along in 1966, followed by Shannon in 1968. Shawn was born in 1973 and Theresa in 1975.
Terrence was a member of the Copper Basin Cattle Association and was the secretary/treasurer for more than 30 years. He was also a member of the Custer County Livestock Marketing Association.
Terrence was a big bear with a teddy-bear heart where his family was concerned.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Debbie (Walt) Johnson, Shannon (Todd) Higgins, Shawn (Meg) Donahue and Theresa (Jason) Nelson; seven grandchildren, Ella and Justin Johnson, Bryan and Kevin Higgins, Thomas Donahue and Gage and Emma Nelson. He is also survived by his brother, Dennie H. (Buddy) Donahue; and a very large extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Kathleen Donahue and Betty Whitworth.
A rosary and viewing will be held at 7 p.m. today, Nov. 23, at Lost River Funeral Chapel in Arco. A funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, at the Mackay High School auditorium with visiting one hour prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mackay or Lost River Volunteer EMT's. By his request, Terrence will be cremated and his ashes will be spread over his Barton Flat Ranch.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lost River Funeral Chapel in Arco.
